Ad Disclosures
Affiliate Disclosures (the “Disclosures”) are given by Trade Guru (“Trade Guru”, “TopTradeGuru”, “we”, or “our”). They apply to www.toptradeguru.com and social media posts, (together, the “Properties”). Like many digital media companies, we work with different partners, advertisers, sponsors, and other groups (together, “Affiliates”). Their products, services, and messages show up on our Properties. Trade Guru makes money when people buy things using the links in our articles, posts or top lists. For example, as an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases from links on our site. And, when third-party ads are on our Properties, we usually get some money from the advertiser even if you don’t buy anything. We share these Disclosures with you because we believe in being open. We also want to follow the rules from the Federal Trade Commission about using endorsements and testimonials in ads. These rules can be found at 16 C.F.R. Part 255. When there’s an Affiliate relationship, we do our best to label the link or content box as an “Ad”. We will also label posts, articles and ranking lists with an “Ad” label.
Ranking Algorithm
Our ranking algorithm for our top and best lists is quantitive based. The score is not influenced by link partnerships. Rather it is influenced by:
- Length in days the product is active on the market – the best products stay on the market longer.
- Positive reviews – the best products have a high positive review ratio from reputable experts and customers.
- Sales figures – in some cases we use sales figures to estimate popularity.
- Social media sentiment – we evaluate conversations about the product. Positive sentiment and organic product recommendations help boost ratings.
- Product specs and attributes – When we evaluate for certain categories, we will use product specifications and attributes to check if a product is fit for ranking in a specific category.
There is a different team that puts affiliate links in our stories, so our writers and ranking algorithm can make fair judgements, and ensuring that our editorial suggestions and retail selections remain impartial.
We maintain a list of posts, reviews, top/best lists that may have sponsored links:
